Compare scenarios

Use this to choose between two options, or to check what a scenario would change in live data before you merge it.

You can compare your own scenarios and any scenario that’s open to your organisation.

Steps

  1. Open the comparison in one of these ways:
    • On My scenarios, select Compare in the toolbar, or right-click a scenario and select Compare with….
    • Inside a scenario, select Compare in the sidebar, or Compare with… at the top of the scenario’s Overview.
    • Inside a scenario, select the changes menu (the clipboard icon in the top bar), then Compare with….
  2. On Compare Scenarios, choose Scenario A and Scenario B.
  3. To compare a scenario with live data, select Compare to Base Plan for the other side. That side shows a Baseline badge.
  4. Select Compare Scenarios.
  5. Read the results:
    • Employees, Teams, Projects, Vacancies, Contractors and Total Cost for each side.
    • Change Summary: the changes each scenario makes.
    • Project Impact: the FTE and cost on each project under Scenario A and Scenario B.
  6. Select Swap scenarios to switch sides. When you’ve finished, select Back to scenarios. It opens a list of your own scenarios and every scenario that’s open to your organisation.

Both sides show live data with each scenario’s changes on top. Anything a scenario hasn’t changed follows live data, so a comparison can move as live data changes. Comments and review history aren’t compared; they’re on each scenario’s Plan details.

What happens next

When you’ve chosen, submit the scenario for review.

If something’s not right

“Invalid Comparison”. Both sides are set to the base plan. Choose a scenario for at least one side.

“Scenario Not Found”. The scenario was deleted, or it’s someone else’s private scenario.

The comparison is different from last week. Live data has changed, and anything a scenario hasn’t changed follows it.
