Connect Asana
Connect Asana to bring in the projects and tasks your teams work from, including teams outside engineering. Their work lands on the same projects finance already sees, as effort and cost. Flowstate only reads from Asana.
You need access to integrations. Ask your Flowstate admin. For the whole set-up, including linking projects, see Connect your project tool.
Before you start
- Your people in Flowstate, with the email address they use in Asana. See People and teams.
- An Asana user who can see the workspace’s projects. Flowstate reads what that person can see.
You can connect one project tool at a time.
Connect Asana
Asana connects in one click. You sign in to Asana and approve, with no key or token to copy.
- Go to Settings → Integrations, select Browse catalog and open Asana.
- Select Connect. Asana opens.
- Sign in and approve Flowstate’s read access. You come back to Flowstate.
- Choose the Asana workspace to bring in.
- Choose what becomes a project and how statuses map, then match people. See Connect your project tool.
What syncs
- Projects and tasks, who each task is assigned to, and status changes.
- Nothing goes back to Asana.
Check it’s working
Go to Settings → Integrations → Sync Health and open the Asana tab. When the first sync has finished, the status is Healthy. See Check and fix syncing.
If something’s not right
- Some projects are missing. Flowstate reads what the person who connected can see. Connect again as someone who can see every project you need.
- Someone’s work isn’t counted. They aren’t matched to a person yet. See Match people and teams from your tools.
