Review keys and service accounts
AI keys spend money without a person attached. Flowstate Helm lists every key your connected AI services report, so you can see who answers for each one and which have no limit of their own.
You need access to view AI keys. Changing an owner or a limit needs access to manage them. Ask your Flowstate admin.
See your keys
- Go to Settings → Keys.
- Read each key’s Tool, Kind (API key or Service account), owner and Limit.
- Use Needs attention to show only the keys that need a decision.
Flags tell you what’s wrong:
| Flag | Means |
|---|---|
| Unowned | Nobody answers for the key. |
| Owner left | Its owner has left the organisation. |
| No limit | It has no monthly limit of its own, so it draws from its owner’s or its project’s budget. |
Create, rotate or revoke a key
You create, rotate and revoke keys in the AI service itself. Flowstate lists a new key here once the service reports it, and stops listing a revoked one.
Give a service account an owner, purpose and limit
- Go to Spend → Service accounts.
- Open the account’s row menu.
- Choose what to set:
- Assign owner: the person who answers for it.
- Set purpose: what it’s for.
- Map to project: the project its spend belongs to.
- Set limit: its own monthly limit.
Your own services
If your own applications call AI services, create an AI service account for each one so its usage arrives in Flowstate with a name. See AI service accounts.
If something’s not right
- “Connect an API provider to see its keys and service accounts.” Connect an AI service first. Select Open Connections, or see Connect your AI providers.
- A key you just created isn’t listed. Flowstate lists it after the service next reports its keys.
- A key shows Owner left. Assign it to someone who’s still here, or revoke it in the service.
