Show the work in Workforce
People use an application through its views. A view shows records from a data store as figures, tables and charts, in the Workforce sidebar beside the rest of their work.
What a view can show
- Figures with their context, such as this month’s total against budget.
- Tables of records, sorted, grouped and filtered.
- Charts of figures over time.
- Forms that collect an answer so the work can carry on.
Let people act on a row
Add a button to a table’s rows to start a workflow for that record, such as re-running a check or sending a deal for approval. Rows that wait on a decision can be answered from the view. See Make a decision a workflow asks for.
Publish a view
- Choose the data store the view reads.
- Choose its columns, filters and grouping.
- Choose the roles that can see it.
- Choose where it sits in the Workforce sidebar: its group and its position.
- Publish it.
People with those roles see the view in Workforce straight away. Everyone else doesn’t see it at all.
Using a view
In Workforce, open the view from the sidebar. Use the period control and filters like any other Workforce page. Select a record to see where its figures came from, including the run that produced them.
