Project resourcing

Staff the project, not the coverage score

A project that is 83% covered tells you nothing. Two gaps, one senior engineer and two DevOps engineers, tells you what to do next. Flowstate states the gap plainly and hands you real actions to close it.

The problem

Coverage percentages hide the answer

Resourcing tools love a percentage. But a project at 83% coverage might be missing a nice-to-have or missing the one person who can ship it. The score compresses away exactly the thing you need to know.

And the availability behind the score is usually wrong, because it ignores partial allocations and forgets that half the team is on leave in August.

Gaps

The gap is stated in people, not points

Set the requirements and Flowstate answers in roles and counts. Availability accounts for every allocation type and scheduled leave, so a person at 0.6 FTE on another project counts as 0.4, not as free.

Cost estimates come with their basis stated. "Based on 12 employees" is a number you can defend. Where there is no data, it says no data available instead of pretending.

2 gaps

Need 1 senior engineer, 2 DevOps engineers.

Availability basis All allocation types plus scheduled leave
Cost estimate $84,000 / mo
Basis Based on 12 employees
Real actions

Four moves, all behind a confirmation

Recommendations are not prose. Each one is an executable change to the plan, applied only when you accept it.

Reschedule the project

Move the start date to when the people exist. The timeline shows the shift before you accept it.

Allocate a person

Pull someone with real availability onto the project, at the FTE fraction that actually fits.

Create vacancies

Turn the gap into a requisition with a role, a team and a target start date.

Deprioritize something else

Free the people by pushing a lower-priority project, with the cost and capacity effect stated.

Trade-offs

See what the trade actually buys you

Considering canceling a lower-priority project? Flowstate shows what it frees up and what it saves. Considering a shift? The best start date options appear as a ghost bar on the timeline, so you see the schedule you would be agreeing to before you agree to it.

Close the gap, not the tab

Book a demo and set requirements on a real project. The gaps and the recommendations arrive in seconds.
